Naturopathic and nutritional analysis and interpretation of pathology results
Have you been to see your GP/Doctor and had some pathology blood tests done, and they haven't found anything wrong?!
I hear this all the time!
I've had clients come in with several folders FULL of pathology results from a dozen or more different doctors, GPs, specialists, and integrative doctors too. But the doctors can't find what is wrong, because "everything is normal"!
Doctors can't treat you unless they can see something wrong in your pathology tests, so they dismiss you, or say it is all in your head!
This will explain why...
On your pathology results, usually on the far right side, is a range - which is called the Reference Range. Doctors will compare your result to the reference range to see if it might be ok or not. If your result is in the Reference Range, the Doctor will say that result is "normal" and move to the next one. Often resulting in all of your results being "normal" so therefore you must be fine right?! No! You wouldn't be seeing them if you were all fine... which they don't understand!
Doctors don't seem to know or understand that the Reference Range on your pathology results is simply a STATISTICAL AVERAGE, of people who have had that test at that laboratory. Different labs use different reference ranges too!
A question to ask yourself... "Do healthy people get blood tests?" - NO!
Hence the Reference Range is simply an average of, let's say, 95% of UNHEALTHY people who have had that test! Reference Ranges are NOT healthy ranges.
So why does your Doctor compare your result to, say, a range of 95% of unhealthy people?!
But that's why they can't often find out what is your problem - they aren't using a useful Reference Range!

Naturopathic and Nutritional analysis of pathology results
Instead of using the Reference Range, based on studies done using HEALTHY people, I use an Optimal Range instead! These ranges come from published studies, courses, pathology textbooks and working with Haematologists and Medical Laboratory Scientists.

I also analyse pathology results differently to a Doctor. I am looking for:
- Confirmations of results from multiple tests, not just from an individual result
- Nutrient deficiencies that are directly and indirectly causing the abnormal results (which Doctors are not trained to do!)
- Undiagnosed or unknown conditions, based on abnormal results
- Confirmations of signs and symptoms, and their causes, to confirm a suspected diagnosis
- Good results that may rule out a diagnosis.
