Do you think it's ok to eat a moderate amount of sugar, when you know it causes weight gain and obesity, type 2 diabetes, inflammation, low immune system function, and even cancer?
And is it ok to eat a moderate amount of unhealthy fats, like trans-fat or margarine or GMO canola oil, which causes inflammation, heart disease ...and artery blockages?
Or ok to eat a moderate amount of toxic chemicals (like glyphosate/Roundup, herbicides, and pesticides etc) in your foods which will cause toxicity in you, inflammation, weight gain, mental health and digestive conditions, and even cancer?
Is the "moderate" amount of healthy food you may eat going to actually help to reduce the health conditions, symptoms, or deficiencies, from eating the "moderate" amount of unhealthy foods?
And what is a "moderate amount" anyway?!
"In moderation" is a ridiculous concept, as everyone has their own interpretation of it. It is often used by doctors and people who don't want to take responsibility for their food choices or how those choices affect their health.
As a Clinical Nutritionist and Naturopath I must be more specific when advising clients as to what they should be eating, in what amounts, and also what to avoid to reduce symptoms or to reverse their health conditions. I try to make this as easy as possible by recommending changes or alternative options rather than just cuttiing out those troublesome foods.
If I say something is "ok in moderation", then I'm not doing my job properly, as neither of us know what this means.
Do you want a moderate level of health, or a lifetime of good health?! It's your choice and your responsibility! I'd love to help you to get to the best health possible!
