Acid reflux conditions occur for many reasons such as stress, your food choices, infections, nutrient deficiencies, reduced gut health, low water intake, and more. While the popular belief is that reflux symptoms occur from high stomach acid production, many studies show the opposite - that reflux mostly results from LOW STOMACH ACID production!
Reflux conditions are treated medically by using antacid products to neutralise stomach acid, or Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) medications. If at all, they should only be taken when needed for very short term use, but I've seen people taking these medications continually for years. These medications can have serious side effects, especially if being used long term.
PPI medications (like Nexium, Somac and many others) reduce the amount of acid the stomach produces. Unfortunately this mostly makes symptoms worse, causing osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones), autoimmune conditions, reduced digestion and absorption of nutrients, nutrient deficiencies, overgrowth of pathogens in the digestive tract (ie, IBS, SIBO, Helicobacter pylori and peptic ulcers), food allergies and intolerances, anaemia, a rebound effect of hypersecretion of stomach acid, and can even increase your risk of cancers.
Reflux conditions and symptoms can often easily and quickly be reversed! I have helped many clients clear their reflux symptoms by focusing on finding the specific causes in each person. Mostly it is a result of eating certain types of foods, or nutrient deficiencies. I investigate many aspects of your health to find the causes and then treating your whole body, and the symptoms will often quickly disappear.
If you or someone you knows has reflux issues, or has been on antacid or PPI medications for a long time, I would like to help reduce the symptoms and reduce the side effects of these medications.
